2009 WHL Championship Series: Live on SHAW

CALGARY, AB - Ron Robison, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League, announced today that all games during the 2009 WHL Championship Series between the Husky WHL Eastern Conference Champion Calgary Hitmen and the Kal Tire WHL Western Conference Champion Kelowna Rockets will be televised live on SHAW TV and Star Choice 'Channel 299' throughout Western Canada.
The WHL is also pleased to announce that SHAW TV will broadcast a WHL Awards show prior to game one of the 2009 WHL Championship Series on Friday, May 1st at 7:00 pm MT. The program will feature footage from the WHL Awards Luncheon and exclusive one-on-one interviews with each award winner by WHL Central's Dan Elliott.

The QMJHL and the City of Rimouski, Quebec will serve as the official hosts for the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup. The Rimouski Oceanic will host the Ed Chynoweth Cup - WHL Champions, Ontario Hockey League Champions and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Champions from May 15 - 24, 2009.
