
2009 Lake Monsters Promotional Schedule Announced

BURLINGTON, VT --- The 2009 Vermont Lake Monsters home schedule will include plenty of giveaways, theme nights, appearances by former Major League players and even a wedding at the ballpark, the team announced today with the release of this summer's promotional schedule.
There will be two bobblehead giveaways during the 2009 season. The first comes as the LakeMonsters play a 4:05 pm game on July 4th for just the second time in the team's 16-year history. The day will be highlighted by a President Obama bobblehead giveaway. Then on August 8th, FairPoint Communications will sponsor a former Vermont Expos and current Boston Red Sox outfielder Jason Bay bobblehead giveaway.
Annual theme nights include Ben & Jerry's Summer of Love on July 10th, Champ's Birthday on August 9th, fireworks presented by SUBWAY restaurants on August 15th, "Pretty In Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness Night on August 30th, McKenzies "Hot Dog Heaven" on August 31st and the "Jersey Off Their Back" Auction during the final home game of the season on September 3rd.
Three former Major League players will be at Centennial Field this summer as Bill Buckner will appear on July 6th, Steve Rogers on August 7th as part of the annual "Tribute to Montreal" night courtesy of Verizon Wireless and Johnny Pesky returns for the second straight year on August 28th.
Two other celebrity appearances at the ballpark this summer will be SpongeBob Squarepants presented by Comcast Spotlight on July 31st and WWE Hall of Fame wrestler George "The Animal" Steele on September 2nd.
Along with a game on July 25th, Centennial Field will also be home to its first-ever pre-game Wedding Ceremony and Bridal Show on the concourse brought to you by Needleman's Bridal. One lucky fan will also receive a $5,000 Home Entertainment system courtesy of Best Buy on August 27th.
The summer will include Frisbee Dog appearances every Friday night, "Have A Catch" on the field following every Sunday game and the chance to win a $500 gas card every Monday night courtesy of Maplefields and Pepsi.

CRUISE ON LAKE CHAMPLAIN WITH 2009 LAKE MONSTERS ON JUNE 18TH
On Thursday, June 18th, there will be a cruise on Lake Champlain with the 2009 Lake Monster players, coaches and Champ. The cruise is open to the public. Tickets are $15 (+tax) for adults and $10 (+tax) for kids 12 and under.
The menu for the evening will be pulled pork Sandwiches, McKenzie Ball Park Franks, potato salad, pasta salad, chicken wings, peanuts, popcorn, and cookies. There will also be a cash bar on board.
Boarding for the cruise will begin at 5:45pm on the King Street Ferry Dock and will run until 8pm. Tickets for the cruise are available by calling 864-9669, going to www.lakechamplaincruises.com or going to the Lake Champlain Cruise offices also located on the King Street Ferry Dock.
LAKE MONSTERS PRACTICE SCHEDULE AT CENTENNIAL THIS WEEK
The Lake Monsters are scheduled to workout at historic Centennial Field for three days this week before heading to Lowell for the season opener on Friday. The team is scheduled to practice 1:00 pm-5:00 pm on Tuesday, 5:00 pm-9:00 pm on Wednesday and 10:00 am-2:00 pm on Thursday.
All three practices are free and open to the public, but all the times are also subject to change so check www.vermontlakemonsters.com for any major changes to the practice schedule.
