2008 Chicago Rush Roster Announced

February 26, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release

The 2008 Chicago Rush will compete for the ArenaBowl XXII title with a roster that features 12 players who were members of last season's Central Division championship team, including All-Arena linebacker DeJuan Alfonzo, All-Arena defensive back Jeremy Unertl and standout lineman John Moyer.

Overall, the roster includes 23 active players, including 16 AFL veterans and just five rookies. In addition, three players will open the season on the league's Injured Reserve list: defensive back Carlos Hendricks, and wide receivers Rob Mager and Clinton Solomon.

In order to reduce its training camp roster by Monday's deadline, the team waived fullback Whitney Bell, defensive lineman Colby Clark, wide receivers Reggie Gray and Robert Quiroga, and defensive back Talib Wise.

The Rush also waived injured offensive lineman Jon Holt, and released linemen Vince Amey and Curtis Eason.

The Rush opens its 2008 season next Monday, March 3, when it hosts the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats at 8 p.m. at Allstate Arena. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and heard locally on The Score Sportsradio 670.

Fans wishing to purchase tickets to the San Jose game, or any one of Chicago's eight home games, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com.
