June 6, 2005 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Long Island Rough Riders News Release
The ink is barely dry on the 2005 Long Island Rough Riders yearbook, and already demand is high.
This year's Rough Riders year in review features in-depth interviews with the heart and soul of the Rough Riders franchise. Andrew Rogers reflects on the growth and professional progression on Rough Riders head coach Ronan Wiseman, from a youth in Dundalk, Ireland to player and future head coach of Long Island's most storied soccer club. The Rough Riders organization also looks back on the team that made the franchise legends, the 1995 National Champion squad, and whether or not that perfection can once again be achieved.
Also featured is Terrance Hinds, the "Genuine Rough Rider" and the only member of the Rough Rider staff to witness both the pinnacle of the club during their two championship runs, and the depths of frustration and despair during years of missing playoffs and confusion within the organization. Hinds gives a unique perspective as the only one who has seen the franchise grow and flourish from its beginnings to two-time national champions can offer.
This year's yearbook also highlights a young Long Island sensation. Jorge Mora, a member of the Rough Rider Super Y League and soccer phenom speaks on his hopes for the future, his purpose for playing the game, and what is important to a young adult. Caffrey believes that this Rough Rider is "one step away from the National team," and expects him to only improve. The interview gives a view into the mind of a young man treading a fine line between young adulthood and soccer immortality.
