DURHAM, N.C. â Seventeen former Northeast Leaguers are currently playing for major league organizations.
Nine alumni are position players and eight are pitchers. Left-hander Joey Eischen is pitching in the major leagues for Montreal. Two are in Triple-A, six are in Double-A and eight are in Single-A.
Four alumni -- Dave Callahan, Ryan Smith, Cipriano Garcia and Greg Keagle -- have been released by major league orgnizations since the start of the season.
