
11 World Cup Players Expected for Ecuador/Peru Match

SECAUCUS, NJ (Tuesday, August 29, 2006) - Ecuador and Peru announced their rosters for their international match to be played on Wednesday, September 6 at Giants Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 8:15 p.m. ET.
Ecuador called up eleven of its 2006 FIFA World Cup players, including Carlos Tenorio (Al Sadd of Qatar), Edison Mendez (PSV Eindhoven of Holland) and Luis Antonio Valencia (Wigan of England). Notables among Peru's roster are Bayern Munich's Claudio Pizarro and PSV Eindhoven's Jefferson Farfan.

recent 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, falling to England, 1-0. The South American
side was led by Tenorio, who scored two goals in the tournament, and young star
Valencia of English Premiership side, Wigan. Peru's most notable players are forward Farfán, who was the CONMEBOL
qualifiers' second top scorer after he recorded seven goals, and striker Pizarro,
