Arkansas Diamonds News Release
(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters and KABZ 103.7 The Buzz have announced the radio station will be the official broadcast home of Twisters football for the 2007 season.
"The Twisters are thrilled to be partnered with 103.7 the Buzz for our second consecutive season," says Jack Lankford, President of the Arkansas Twisters. "The Buzz staff and on-air talent have been a pleasure to work with and we appreciate the partnership along with their willingness to go above and beyond to promote our team in the marketplace."
The Buzz will broadcast the entire 16 game season and all Twisters playoff games should Arkansas advance. The broadcast team will remain the same from last year with Jake Hatley handling the play by play duties for the fourth straight year. Drivetime Sports host Ray Tucker returns for his eighth season as color analyst for all home broadcasts while General Manager Dick "Mackie" McDonald returns for his second season handling the color duties for all road games.
"We are thrilled to have the Twisters back on The Buzz this year," said Justin Acri, Program Director of 103.7 The Buzz. "It's a great local sporting event that thousands of Arkansans turn out for every year and we are happy to be the broadcast home of the Twisters. We think that arena football provides entertaining programming for our listeners in the early part of the spring and fills a football void for pigskin crazy Arkansans."
During the first season on The Buzz, the Twisters had its best season ever by winning a franchise record 12 games with two wins coming in the playoffs. Arkansas advanced to the National Conference finals for the second time in four years.
The Twisters kickoff the 2007 on the road at South Georgia on March 31st and open at home at Alltel Arena on April 28th. Fans can purchase season tickets by calling 975-KICK or logging onto www.arkansastwisters.com.
