Frisco, TX- What would you do if you walked into a Frisco RoughRiders game and your tickets were upgraded to the best seats in the house? What if your favorite player signed a jersey just for you? Would it add to the excitement if you were honored on the field and asked to lead the crowd in one of baseball's best traditions? Well, at some point on Monday, July 12, one fan will become the 1,000,000th person to walk through the gates of Dr Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark to see a Frisco RoughRiders game and that lucky person will get to find out what all this special treatment feels like.
The Frisco RoughRiders are coming back to town on Saturday, July 10, for four full days of excitement and fun before they leave for 16 days on the road. During the short series, there will be two Rangers starters making appearances in the RoughRiders rotation. Chan Ho Park and R.A. Dickey are both making starts for Frisco versus the Tulsa Drillers. The two recovering major leaguers will be key components in the RoughRiders continued quest for first place in the East Division. Frisco and Tulsa are both right on the heels of division leading Wichita in the early stages of the second-half. All of the exciting play on the field is to be capped off on Tuesday by a special appearance from the Famous Chicken.
Despite the nationally renowned entertainment acts and the visiting big leaguers, the fans remain the main focus for the Frisco RoughRiders, the 1,000,000th fan in particular. On Monday, July 12, the 1,000,000th fan is going to have an experience for the ages. Once the turnstile rolls over, the special fan will have their tickets immediately upgraded to the best available seats in the stadium for Monday's game. The next big moment of the night comes during the seventh-inning stretch when the winner will lead a packed house in "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Of course, the RoughRiders want all of their fans to come back as often as possible, but for the 1,000,000th fan getting back will be a little easier as a luxury suite will be awarded to the lucky winner. They may not get all the fabulous awards, but other people will know who they are if they wear their personalized jersey singed by the RoughRiders player of their choice.
