The Austin Bruins continued their home stand against the Minot Minotauros. The Bruins got off to a quick start as the 16 year old CJ Smith was set up by Riley Colvard. Minot was able to answer back making it a 1-1 hockey game. John Simonson put the Bruins up 2-1, assisting was Chris Fischer and Trevor Waldoch. The Bruins outshot Minot 18-3 in period number one. The Bruins continued to dominate play in the second period. John Kirby added his sixth of the season, assists went to Charlie Adams and Colton Kramer. The Bruins scored their fourth goal of the evening on the power play, Andy Faust was set up by Christian Folin and Trevor Waldoch. Minot added one more at the end of the second period making it 4-2. After two periods of play the Austin outshot Minot 29-10 and led 4-2. The final period the Bruins made it 5-2 on the power play, this time it was Chris Fischer assists went to Jon Gehrt and Jake Flynn. The Bruins scored their sixth of the night as John Simonson added his third goal of the weekend, assists went to Chris Fischer. Minot answered back with less than a minute remaining. The Bruins pick up the 6-3 victory and the sweep. Next weekend the Bruins are back in action at Riverside Arena as they battle the Alexandria Blizzard.
