Roanoke Valley Vipers News Release

ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), announced today that they have mutually agreed to part ways with Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rick Adduono, effective immediately.

Adduono, who coached the organization in Port Huron before it moved to the Roanoke Valley, is pursuing alternative career opportunities for himself. The 50-year-old Adduono has compiled a 302-216-37 career record as a head coach over nine seasons.

"We wish Rick the best, and know he'll succeed wherever he ends up," said Vipers Owner and Governor Kristen Dixon, "but our separating was the best thing for our organization at this time, and we expect to name a new head coach within the next week or so."

Co-owner Ken Dixon has been interviewing potential candidates to fill the position for the past two weeks. As the team is in the midst of heavy recruiting efforts, the Dixons hope to have a new coach named by the end of next week. In the meantime, Vipers Director of Player Personnel, Gary Cook will handle the administrative duties dealing with recruiting and signing until a new head coach is selected.

Vipers full- and partial-season tickets are still on sale, and packages start at just $118! Call the Vipers office today at (540) 345-PUCK (7825) to get yours, or visit us online at www.valleyvipershockey.com.
