Muskegon undefeated with Robinson

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO – Dating back to the 2003-2004 season, the Fury are undefeated in the last 38 games that Todd Robinson has appeared in the lineup.

In 12 games since his return from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL), he has posted six goals and thirteen assists. He is currently on a ten-game point-scoring streak (17 points), earning six assists and a plus-four rating this week. Robinson (284) is three games away from tying Andrew Luciuk (287) for sixth, and four games from tying Sergei Kharin (288) for fifth on the Fury's all-time games played list. With his next goal, he will tie for sixth place on the Fury's all-time goal-scoring list, and he continues to lead the Fury with 13 career shorthanded goals.

He is in his sixth professional season and his fifth in both the UHL and with the Fury. On his professional career, he has scored 147 goals and 377 assists for 524 points in 412 games. In 284 Fury career games, he has tallied 109 goals, 282 assists for 391 points in 284 games. In 40 games with the Griffins this season, he posted seven goals and 19 assists.

In the 2003-04 season he finished third in the league with 106 points (25 goals, 81 assists) in 72 games. His 13-game assist streak (21 assists) from November 7, 2003 through December 6, 2003 was a league-best. He reached 100 points for the second time in his Fury career and for the third time overall in his professional career.

In the 2002 Colonial Cup playoffs, his breakaway goal at 4:16 of overtime in Game #6 of the Finals produced a 2-1 triumph and the Fury's second league championship and first on home ice. He led the league in playoff scoring with four goals and 20 assists, including three game-winners, two of which came in overtime. He was also named UHL Colonial Cup MVP.

In 1999-00, he split time between the Idaho Steelheads and Colorado Springs Gold Kings registering over 100 points and finishing fifth in league scoring. During this season, he was also named WCHL Rookie of the Year.

Run For The Cup With three consecutive wins this week, the Fury's undefeated streak has reached 16 (13-0-3) with their last defeat occurring over five weeks ago on February 4th against Fort Wayne. During their 16-game streak, the Fury have outscored their opposition 62-33 for a goals for of 3.87 and a goals against average of 2.06.

AROUND THE LEAGUE

Adirondack Frostbite - (2-1-0) – The Frostbite are on a season-high eleven-game home point streak...The Frostbite are 27-4-5 when scoring first and 27-0-0 when leading after the second period...Scott Drevitch is tied for first amongst defenseman in scoring with 50 points. He currently leads blueliners in goals with 13 and power play goals with seven...Bob Rapoza is one point away from 300 on his career...After tallying three points on Wednesday, Sylvain Cloutier moved into tenth on the Adirondack all-time points list with 105...Heading into the week, the Frostbite have the second best power play in the league converting 20.6 percent of the time...This season, the Frostbite have been in 33 games decided by one goal. Only seven times this season, the Frostbite have either won or lost by four goals or more...Kris Tebbs is fourth in the league with a 78.9 shootout save percentage. He is also tied for seventh on the Adirondack all-time wins list with 14...The Frostbite are nine points ahead of Danbury for first in the East and are tied for the best record in the UHL with the Muskegon Fury.

Danbury Trashers - (1-1-0) – With Alex Goupil scoring his 20th goal of the season in Danbury's 3-1 win over Adirondack on March 12th, the Trashers became the first team in the UHL this season to have five 20-plus goal scorers (scoring 20 or more in one uniform). Goupil has scored six of the team's 17 goals during the month of March. During his current five-game scoring streak, the rookie forward has eight points on six goals and is a plus-four with zero penalty minutes...Four of Nicholas Bilotto's five goals this season are on the power play...With 13 games left in the regular season, the Danbury Trashers are on the road to surpassing the UHL's existing single-season record for penalty minutes. The current record is 2,641 set by the Asheville Smoke during the 2001-02 season. The Trashers currently have 2,427 penalty minutes...The Trashers need three points to clinch the second playoff spot in the Eastern Division. Danbury has 83 points followed by Richmond with 61 points.

Elmira Jackals - (1-2-0) –Center Eddy Lowe has surpassed Randy Murphy to become the Jackals all-time scoring leader. With the record-breaking goal on Saturday against Muskegon, and another goal on Sunday against Rockford, "The Next Mayor of Elmira" now has 221 points (113 goals, 108 assists) in 350 career games for Elmira...Left wing Jarrett Konkle had his three-game goal-scoring streak snapped on Saturday. The Elmira College star has five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in five games for the Jackals...Center Craig Macdonald scored his first professional goal on Sunday in Rockford. Macdonald's third period goal, and game-winner, broke the 2-2 tie for the Jackals...Elmira's 9-1 loss to Muskegon on Saturday night at L.C. Walker Arena was the worst loss for the Jackals in their five-year history. It was also the highest number of goals allowed in a single game by the Jackals this year.

Flint Generals - (2-1-0) – Flint scored two shorthanded goals only 45 seconds apart (Jason Selleke and Bobby Reynolds) in the 3-1 victory over Richmond on Saturday. The Generals also scored two goals in 30 seconds versus Elmira in the 5-1 victory on Friday (Rob Valicevic and Jason Woolley)...Eight of the nine points earned in Sunday's game were by Generals or former Generals players. The only player to earn a point in that game that did not previously wear a Generals' jersey was Simu Pulkki...Flint has won four of their last six games. Flint won back-to-back games for the first time since January 7th with victories on March 2nd versus Kalamazoo and March 4th versus Richmond...Bobby Reynolds (1g, 4a), Rob Valicevic (3g, 2a) and Mike Kinnie (5a) racked up five points each this weekend...Right wing Jason Selleke has scored two game-winning goals this season both at the expense of the Richmond RiverDogs.

Fort Wayne Komets - (2-1-0) – Fort Wayne outshot their opponents 148-65 for the week and continue to lead the league with 2,366 shots after 67 games for a per-game average of 35.3 shots...Left wing Sean Venedam notched his 34th and 35th goals of the season in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Port Huron Beacons...Kevin St. Pierre posted his 100th career win and appeared in his 400th career game on Wednesday versus Port Huron. His next appearance will mark his 100th as a Komet...Defenseman Steve Rodberg skated his 100th Fort Wayne career game on Sunday versus Richmond...Rookie left wing Blake Stewart registered his first two-goal, three-point game on Sunday...The Komets had over 7,000 fans at each of the three home games this past week for a per-game average of 7,654 and 22,961 total...Sunday the Komets slammed the visiting Richmond RiverDogs 9-2 tying the UHL team high for the season. It was the second nine-goal outing for the Komets this season with the previous nine-goal game also against the RiverDogs on December 17th.

Kalamazoo Wings - (1-0-1) – The K-Wings hosted their second-ever UHL sellout on March 12th versus Motor City. Kalamazoo's lone other UHL sellout at Wings Stadium was on March 17, 2001 versus Missouri. The K-Wings have welcomed 106,814 fans into Wings Stadium this season – the most to come to Wings Stadium in a single season...The K-Wings have four home games left this season...Kalamazoo will host the Fort Wayne Komets in the 24th Annual World Famous Green Ice Game this Thursday...Chad Alban recorded his second shutout of the season on Friday versus Port Huron. The shutout was the 18th in K-Wings history. Eleven of the K-Wings UHL shutouts have been achieved by Alban...Alban is tied for second in the UHL with 28 wins...Goaltender Joel Martin is unbeaten in his last five starts (4-0-1) and is second in the league with a save percentage of .931...Defenseman Daniel Carriere has recorded 25 of his 39 points on the power-play...Kalamazoo will start a four game road swing this Friday at Muskegon. The road games will be the first on the road in the month of March for Kalamazoo...Forward Tim Turner has a current league-high three-game road goal-scoring streak...Kalamazoo has won 20 road games this season, tying them with Fort Wayne and Adirondack for the most road wins in the league.

Kansas City Outlaws - (1-1-0) – Left wing Jason Ruff had his point streak snapped at five games on March 13th at Quad City. In the previous five contests, the Outlaws captain registered one goal and nine assists...Right wing Joe Seroski has six multi-goal games this season. He leads the team in goals, points, and power play goals...The Outlaws are 4-27-0 when allowing four or more goals in a game...Maxime Gingras is 6-3-1 in his last 10 starts, allowing only 24 goals in the ten game span...Kansas City has a combined 17-33-3 record against their seven remaining opponents this season...Center Mark Lee is fifth among rookie scorers and third among rookies in assists...The Outlaws have had six goaltenders in net and 45 skaters on the ice this season...Defenseman Matthieu Descoteaux has three points in five games since returning from the injured reserve...Right wing Jay Murphy has 32 points in 27 games with Kansas City since being acquired from Richmond in December...Kansas City is 3-2 in their last five shootouts...The Outlaws are 19-27-2 in weekend games (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Missouri River Otters - (1-0-0) – Center Lars Pettersen needs one point to reach 500 on his professional career...Left wing Barrie Moore needs two goals to reach 200 on his professional career...Right wing Frank Littlejohn has scored 11 goals in 15 games since joining the River Otters. He's reached the 30-goal plateau this season for the third time in his career...Left wing Mark Odut is fourth among UHL rookies with 22 goals and a 16.7 shooting percentage...Mike Dombkiewicz is tied for second among UHL defenseman with 11 goals...St. Louis Blues' Jamal Mayers and Bryce Salvador joined the River Otters in this weekend's match-up against the Beacons.

Motor City Mechanics - (1-0-0) – Motor City played only one game this week recording a 3-2 shootout victory over Kalamazoo...Defenseman Derian Hatcher scored in regulation and the game-winner in Saturday's shootout...Motor City outshot Kalamazoo 18-3 in the first period, 35-25 overall...In his last ten games, center Blair Manning has recorded five goals and nine assists with a plus-four rating...In three games this month, center Sean Avery has recorded 26 penalty minutes, three goals and an assist....The Mechanics are 6-3-1 in their last ten games and are currently riding a three-game win streak...Motor City has improved their home record to 12-16-4 and road record to 10-19-3.

Muskegon Fury - (3-0-0) –The Fury boast the UHL's best home record at 27-4-3 with their 27 wins as the most in the UHL, and two more than registered in all of last season (25)...With back-to-back victories this past weekend, the Fury hold a seven-game winning streak (7-0-0) against Eastern Division opponents...Defeating Elmira in their first two contests, the Fury have outscored the Jackals 14-1... Sylvain Daigle set the Fury team record for most consecutive wins by a goaltender at ten. In his ten-game win streak, he has allowed only 15 goals against for a goals against average of 1.50 and a save percentage of .949...Robin Bouchard's hat trick on Saturday night against Elmira was his eighth multi-goal game, and club-high of the season...Brant Blackned's four-point night against Richmond on Friday was his fifth game with four or more points...The Fury are a plus-41 in the second period this season, outscoring opponents 96-55 overall and 57-26 at home.

Port Huron Beacons – (0-4-0) – Kyle Sheen is first among rookies with 201 penalty minutes...Left wing Casey Harris has a five-game penalty streak...Port Huron is 21-2-1 when leading after two periods...Port Huron is 19-4-1 when leading after the first period and 12-1-0 when leading after the first period at home...Center Aaron Brand continues to lead the Beacons with 67 points (24 goals, 43 assists)...In their last ten games, the Beacons are 4-6-0 and are currently riding a five-game losing streak...Mat Goody is fourth among UHL rookies with 152 penalty minutes and second with 22 major penalties.

Quad City Mallards - (2-0-1) – Mallards goaltender Robert Gherson recorded his second professional shutout on Saturday vs. Port Huron. No goaltender in Mallards history has recorded shutouts in back-to-back games...Gherson recorded his first professional point with an assist on Patrick Nadeau's second period goal on Saturday...Alexander Skorohod recorded his first professional point with an assist on Jason Deskins' second goal on Sunday...Jason Deskins recorded his third multiple goal game of the season with a pair of markers on Sunday vs. Kansas City...The Mallards 7-0 win over Port Huron on Saturday marked the team's biggest margin of victory this season.

Richmond RiverDogs – (0-4-0) – David Brosseau's goal on Sunday against Fort Wayne put him in a tie with David Hymovitz for the team lead with 29 goals...Luch Nasato hit double figures with his 10th goal on Sunday against Fort Wayne... Kris Waltze, in his first game as a RiverDog, scored a goal against Flint...Jim Duhart leads the league in shots with 282...David Hymovitz is amongst the top in the league in points with 82...Luch Nasato is amongst the top in the league for points by a defensemen with 42 points.

Rockford IceHogs - (1-1-0) – Despite outshooting their opponents in their last six games, Rockford is only 2-3-1...Rockford's 48 shots on Sunday against Elmira is a season-high...Sunday marked the beginning of six games in eight days for the IceHogs...Center J.C. Ruid has a point in each of his last five games...During his point streak he has earned three goals and four assists...Winger Alex Kim has a point in five straight contests earning three goals and three assists...The IceHogs haven't won back-to-back games in over a month. The last time the club won two straight games was February 9th and 11th...For the first time in four years, the IceHogs will play five games in one week...Rockford's meeting with Richmond on Friday is the first ever match-up between the two teams.

SHER-WOOD PLAYER OF THE WEEK Muskegon forward/defenseman Jason Lawmaster completed the week with six points (2g, 4a) and a plus-seven rating in three games. On Tuesday, he scored Muskegon's second goal of the game to help lift the Fury into the 3-2 triumph at Flint. On Friday night, he tallied a power play assist, and on Saturday, was the first to light the lamp in the Fury's 9-1 victory over Elmira. He has earned points in 12 of his last 13 games, and in his last 32 games has recorded 15 goals and 20 assists. Lawmaster is in his sixth professional season and his second in both the UHL and with the Fury. Signed by the Fury as a free agent in July of 2003, he posted 208 penalty minutes, 18 assists and seven goals in 68 games. After recording 566 penalty minutes in three seasons in the OHL, over the next four seasons he split time between the ECHL and AHL. The 26-year-old Westland, Michigan native is currently fifth in the league with 57 minors and 219 penalty minutes on the season.

SOUTHERN SPORTS SUPPLY UHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

Quad City's Robert Gherson finished the week with a 2-0-1 record, 1.33 GAA and .961 save percentage. In Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to Rockford, he turned away 35 of 38 shots in regulation. On Saturday he registered his second professional shutout stopping all 34 Beacons shots on goal. During this game, he also earned his first professional point with an assist on the power play late in the second period. On Sunday, he allowed only one goal against in the 2-1 victory over the Outlaws. He currently leads UHL goaltenders with a 17-9-6 record and a 2.20 goals against average. The 21-year-old Toronto, Ontario native has earned for the second consecutive week, and second time this season, the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week.

Over four seasons, he played 189 games in the Ontario Hockey League recording a 69-83-22 record with a 3.29 goals against average and a .899 save percentage. He spent three seasons with the Sarnia Sting and last season with the Owen Sound Attack. In the 2002-03 season, he finished in the OHL's top-10 for wins (third with 26), save percentage (eighth with .915), and goals against average (ninth with 2.78). Gherson was also selected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth (145th overall) round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
