
Westchester Knicks Select Five Players in 2016 NBA Development League

WHITE PLAINS, NY, October 30, 2016 - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, selected five players today in the 2016 NBA D-League Draft.
With the 16th selection in the first round, the Westchester Knicks selected Max Hooper (6-6, 205) out of Oakland University. Hooper averaged 10.7 points per game on 45 percent from beyond the arc his senior year without making a single shot within the perimeter. He currently stands as the only player in NCAA history to attempt over 200 three-pointers without attempting a two-point shot. Hooper began his collegiate career at Harvard and transferred to St. John's before spending his final two years of eligibility with Oakland. After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, Hooper appeared in three games with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2016 NBA Summer League.
Westchester selected Lasan Kromah (6-6, 205) with its second pick (fourth round, 60th overall). A guard out of the University of Connecticut, Kromah appeared in all 40 games as a graduate student after playing three years and earning a degree in Criminal Justice from George Washington University. Kormah averaged 6.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game for the 2014 Huskies, who would go on to be the NCAA Champions. After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, Kromah joined the Brooklyn Nets in the 2014 NBA Summer League before signing with Alba Fehérvár of Hungary. In 2015, Kromah played with Torku Konyaspor of the Turkish Basketball League.

The Westchester Knicks will tip-off its third season at the historic Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 5:00 p.m., facing the Greensboro Swarm, the Charlotte Hornets' new affiliate. The team will open the regular season on the road on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. against the Delaware 87ers, the Philadelphia 76ers' affiliate.
