Warriors Best Legends to Tip off Day Four of Showcase

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - The Santa Cruz Warriors (14-12) defeated the Texas Legends (12-11) by a score of 113-97 to open Day 4 of the NBA Development League Showcase at Hershey Centre.

All five of the Warriors' starters finished in double figures, led by 17 points and 10 points from center Dennis Clifford. Scott Wood also finished with 17 points and shot 5-of-10 from beyond the arc while Phil Pressey notched a 16-point, 14-assist double-double in the win.

The Legends were paced by a game-high 32 points from C.J. Williams, who shot 11-of-16 from the field and 5-of-9 from deep. Manny Harris logged a game-high 44 minutes and recorded 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds for Texas.

Santa Cruz's James Southerland led all scorers in the first, netting eight points in as many minutes for the Warriors, in a quarter that featured five ties and finished with the two teams knotted at 23.

Terrence Drisdom came off the bench in the second quarter to score nine points for Santa Cruz, and helped the Warriors extended their lead to as many as 12, but Texas closed the gap and went to halftime down one, 48-47.

Harris went five-of-seven from the field in the third to score 13 points for Texas, but Santa Cruz ended the period on an 18-9 run over the final six minutes, to take a 78-66 lead into the fourth.

The Warriors put up 35 points on 14-of-21 shooting in the fourth quarter, led by 14 points from Clifford, as they bounced back with a win to close out their Showcase slate.

The Warriors' next game will be on the road against the Salt Lake City Stars on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 9 p.m. ET, while Texas will be back in action against the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. ET, which can be seen live on NBA TV.
