Stealth set to battle division leaders

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth (7-5) are set to take on the Tulsa Talons (9-3) tomorrow night in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a crucial Southwest Division match-up for the Stealth. The Stealth are currently two games back of the Talons for the division lead with three games left to play after this weekend.

This will conclude the season series for these two teams. The Talons lead the season series 2-0 over the Stealth and lead the all-time series 7-1. The Stealth are looking to rebound from a 49-34 loss at Rio Grande Valley last weekend and are looking to get their first victory ever in Tulsa.

Damon Thompson leads the Stealth offense. Thompson has caught 53 passes for 825 yards and 23 touchdowns in nine games with the Stealth. Thompson has also returned 29 kicks for 551 yards. He leads the team in scoring, receiving, and all-purpose yards.

Coming into this weekend's game, the Stealth defense is near the top of almost every defensive category in the af2. They rank 6th in scoring defense (42.5 points per game), 4th in total defense (224.9 yards per game), 5th in pass defense (212.2 yards per game), and 2nd in rushing defense (12.7 yards per game).

Quarterback Bob Bees and offensive specialist Robert Reed lead the Talons. Bees has gone 140-of-208 (67.3%) for 1,620 yards and 41 touchdowns in eight games. Reed has caught 78 passes for 897 yards and 26 touchdowns on the season.

The Stealth will return home next weekend to face the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz in another crucial Southwest Division match-up. The Stealth defeated the Yard Dawgz 70-35 on June 12th in Wichita and the Yard Dawgz won the game in Oklahoma City on May 22nd by a score of 53-25.
