Predators Looking For Revenge Against Division Leaders

April 29, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Seattle Timberwolves News Release

Kent, WA: With Int heir first matchup, the Kent Predators had the unfortuante task of playing the Indoor Football League's defending champions in their first game in team history. Not only was the game the first time the Kent players had taken the field together, but it was an opener on the road in a stadium that averages over 6,000 fans per contest. The team fought hard, but an array of pentalties doomed the Predators as they fell 56-40. This time around, the Predators will welcome the Billings Outlaws to the ShoWare Center as the seek to move a full game closer to the Pacific North Division leaders in the standings.

The Outlaws enter the contest with a 6-1 record, and lead the second place Fairbanks Grizzlies by a full game. Their offense is stacked with 2009 IFL Player of the Year Chris Dixon, and an extremely talented group of Wide Receivers that include Deangelo Woodie, James Walton, and recent acquisition Josh Gibson. This team is especially dangerous to all opponents because their defense is just as talented as their offense. Sack master Mike Bazemore and interception machine Javon Jackson lead the unit that is among the top five in the league in most defensive categories.

The Predators are going to need to play a complete game to unseat the Champions. Quarterback Charles McCullum, the IFL's rushing leader, will look to continue his stellar play and pick his chances to exploit the Outlaws defense using both his arm and his legs. Andre "Piper" Jordan and Eric Taylor are the signal caller's primary targets, and will need to be on their "A" game against Billings defensive backs. On defense the Predators will rely on John Fields to supply pressure up front. Their goal in the game is to limit the amount of chances that Dixon will have to tuck the ball and gain yards on the ground.

Coach McCarthy and the rest of the Predators hope to see a packed house as they look to shock the Outlaws on home turf. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this Friday night at the ShoWare Center. Tickets for the game are available by logging on to www.kentpredators.com or by calling the team office at 253-239-3254. Discounted group tickets are available as well for groups of ten or more.
