Harrisburg Senators News Release
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats shutout the Harrisburg Senators 2-0 Saturday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The Senators suffered their 12th shutout loss of the season.
The Fisher Cats scored their first run in the opening inning. After Santiago Espinal singled and stole second with one out, Cavan Biggio drove him with an RBI single to right to give New Hampshire a one run lead.
Connor Panas homered to lead off the second to make the score 2-0 Fisher Cats.
That was the last run allowed by Senators starting pitcher Kyle McGowin. The right-hander kept New Hampshire to two runs on four hits while striking out nine and walking three in six innings.
Reliever James Bourque pitched two perfect innings to finish the game for the Senators.
New Hampshire starting pitcher Jordan Romano tossed eight shutout innings, limiting the Senators to a pair of two-out singles in the second and fourth, and a leadoff single in the fifth. He retired the final 12 Senators batters he faced.
Alec Keller led off the ninth inning with a single to bring the tying run to the plate, but Fisher Cats reliever Travis Bergen retired the next three batters to close out the 2-0 win and notch his fourth save.
Jake Noll had two of the four Senators hits as he finished 2-for-3. He's had at least one hit in 15 of his past 16 games.
The Senators and Fisher Cats finish their four-game series Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Logan Darnell starts for the Senators opposite Fisher Cats starter Justin Dillon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Harrisburg 96.5 & 95.3 FM and 1400 AM or at www.cbssportsharrisburg.com beginning at 1:20 p.m.
