
Mad Ants Continue as Only Undefeated Team in D-League

Fort Wayne, Ind.- The Fort Wayne Mad Ants (5-0) put up a fight against the Iowa Energy (2-6) to win 95-94 with a strong layup by Julyan Stone in the final two second of the game. This gives the Mad Ants their best start in franchise history.
Stone finished the outing with a double-double, scoring 10 points and recording 11 assists.
Mad Ants kept the lead in the first quarter 19-16. Starting the second, the Mad Ants and Energy were back and forth but off a rebound, Stone found Christmas for the Alley Oop Dunk. Giving the Mad Ants a 29-25 lead.
Following, the Energy went on a 7-1 run with 5 minutes left in the first half (36-31), finishing the second quarter on top of the Mad Ants 47-42.
Alex Poythress was able to tie the game at 50 early in the third with an assist by Stone. The energy challenged the Mad Ants keeping the lead to single digits to end the third 70-74.
Travis Leslie's (5) steals, broke the lead to 1 (76-77) with a dunk two minutes into the fourth quarter.
Mad Ants went on an 8-1 path to battle Energy to a tie of 89 with only two and a half minutes to go in the game.
Stone subbed in for Poythress after the Mad Ants used their rest timeout. He then drove to the hoop and laid down a layup to regain the lead (95-94) for the first time since late in the second quarter, with 2.1 seconds left in the game.
Iowa immediately took a time out and following, after using a reset timeout to advance the ball just inside half-court, the Energy had no energy left and threw the ball away on the inbounds pass, unable to attempt a game-winning shot.
Wayne Selden Jr. stole the show for the Energy finishing with 21 points.
All five starters scored in double-figures for the Mad Ants, Hicks (10), Poythress (11), Christmas (18), McKinney Jones (17), and Stone (10). Joining Stone, Trey McKinney-Jones also recorded a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Leslie posted 21 points and six rebounds in 31 minutes of action off the Fort Wayne bench.
The Mad Ants are the only team left in the NBA D-League that remain undefeated.
Mad Ants return to play Tuesday, November 29th vs. the Raptors 905 in Toronto at 7:30 p.m. They return home to face the Windy City Bulls on Saturday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for their Pacers Night.
