Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX, (Mar. 4, 2017) -The Texas Legends (19-19) used a 44-point combined effort from Manny Harris and Stephane Lasme to defeat the Long Island Nets (14-26) 121-110 Saturday night in Frisco.
Texas took the lead early and held on wire-to-wire. The home team had built up a 16-point advantage by the end of the first, but the visitors wouldn't go down without a fight.
The Legends held a 21-point lead with just under 10 minutes to play, but the visitors took full advantage of the next five minutes, running up 24 points to the home team's seven. The Legends found themselves clinging to a four-point gap with two and a half minutes on the clock so the starters went to work. Seven unanswered points and a defensive push would give the Legends the victory that seemed readily available earlier in the match.
Lasme finished the night with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 blocks while Harris matched the 22 points and added 5 rebounds, 5 assists. Mavericks assignee Nicolas Brussino grabbed the team's only double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds while his Dallas teammate AJ Hammons led the team in rebounds with 11.
The Nets were led by Cliff Alexander with 28 points, 14 rebounds while RJ Hunter followed closely with 27. Trailblazers assignee Tim Quarterman finished with a double-double of his own dishing out 14 assists with his 13 points.
The Legends will return to the court Tuesday hosting the Northern Arizona Suns at 7 p.m. CT. For tickets or information visit www.TexLegends.com or call 214-469-0822.
