
League Assigns More Players to the Knights for 2006

Macon Knights News Release
MACON, Ga. - The arenafootball2 league office announced the assignment of more players to the Knights for the 2006 season. Of the 13 players assigned four of them are returning to the Knights from the 2005 season.
The four players returning to the Knights for 2006 are DS Hosea Laney, DS Damian Purse, WR/LB Shawn Terry, and OL/DL Ed Wangler.
The nine new players to the Knights are, OL/DL Rashad Chisholm, WR/DB Albert Daniels (assigned from open tryouts), WR/DB York Frierson, FB/LB John Johnson, WR/DB Corey McCoy, OL/DL Quincy Myles, FB/LB Markus Pratt, WR/DB Ellis Spears, and OL/DL Kevin Thomas.
The Knights will continue to assemble their roster for 2006 on January 14th as the Knights coaching staff will be holding an open tryout.

Rashad Chisholm OL/DL 6'3 280 Fort Valley St.
Chisholm will be entering his rookie season in the af2 and is looking to make an impact on the league and to help the Knights organization bring home a championship.
Albert Daniels WR/DB 5'9 155 West Georgia
Daniels will be a rookie entering the 2006 season with the Knights. Daniels was one of the players assigned to the Knights that was found at one of the open tryouts held by the Knights coaching staff.
York Frierson WR/DB 6'0 200 BYU
Frierson is entering his third season in the af2 and first with the Knights. Frierson brings to the Knights AFL experience as he was signed by the L.A. Avengers in 2002. Frierson has also played for the Bakersfield Blitz in af2.
John Johnson FB/LB 6'3 260 Kansas
Johnson enters his rookie season in the af2 with the Knights.
Hosea Laney DS 6'2 195 Fort Valley St.
Laney is entering his fourth season in the af2 and his third with the Macon Knights. Last season Laney led the team in tackles and was second in the league in tackles with 109.5 tackles. Laney was also second on the team in interceptions with six.
Corey McCoy WR/DB 5'9 180 Colorado St.
McCoy is entering his third year in the af2 and first with the Macon Knights. McCoy also has AFL experience with the Arizona Rattlers where he caught 12 passes for 159 yards and four touchdowns.
Quincy Myles OL/DL 6'3 295 Louisiana Tech
Myles is entering his third season in the af2 and his first with the Macon Knights.
Markus Pratt FB/LB 6'1 250 Southern Methodist
Pratt enters his second season in the af2 and his first with the Macon Knights.
Damian Purse DS 5'9 185 Missouri Southern
Purse enters his third season in the af2 and third with the Macon Knights. Last season with the Knights Purse had 22 tackles, one interception, and five pass breakups.
Ellis Spears WR/DB 6'3 185 Grambling St.
Spears enters his rookie season with the Knights and the af2. Spears has experience in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Shawn Terry WR/LB 6'2 188 West Virginia
Terry enters his second season in the af2 and his second with the Macon Knights. In the 2005 season Terry totaled 16 receptions for 261 yards and four touchdowns in five games.
Kevin Thomas OL/DL 6'2 309 Jackson St.
Thomas is entering his third season in the af2 and his first with the Macon Knights. In one game with the Tulsa Talons in the 2005 season Thomas recorded one fumble recovery.
Ed Wangler OL/DL 6'4 250 Oregon
Wangler enters his second season in af2 and his second season with the Knights. Wangler totaled 12.5 tackles and four sacks on the season.
