Knights Players Signed in AFL

MACON, Ga. - The Arena Football League office announced that two former Knights players from the 2005 season have signed with teams in the AFL. Matt Jackson, candidate for af2 Rookie of the Year and Ironman of the Year, signed with the Dallas Desperados on October 14th and Chris Johnson the Knights leading receiver from 2005 signed with the Georgia Force on October 21st.

"The Knights are excited to be able to help great talent become more knowledgeable about the game of Arena Football and be able to be noticed by teams in the AFL. We wish all of our former players the best of luck in the AFL and as they continue their playing careers" said Ron Armour, Vice President of the Macon Knights.

Matt Jackson WR/DB - Jackson led the team in kick return yards last season with 1,214 yards and five touchdowns. Jackson also pitched in by catching 34 passes for 444 yards and 5 touchdowns. Jackson then showed that he is not just an offensive player but he can play some defense too by leading the team in interceptions with nine, and he was second on the team with 64.5 tackles.

Chris Johnson OS - Johnson was the Knights leading receiver and came to the team three games into the 2005 season. Johnson had 113 receptions for 1,493 yards and 31 touchdowns. Johnson also helped out with kick returns, returning 15 total kicks for 279 yards and one touchdown. Johnson also set or tied three Knights single game records. He set records for touchdowns scored with six, and receiving yards with 216. Johnson tied the record for longest reception in a game with a 46 yard reception.
