Georgia Force Training Camp Report
February 16, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release
FLOWERY BRANCH, GA- The Georgia Force and the Orlando Predators competed in a full-contact combined workout today.
Following a brief special teams segment, the teams took the field to begin the workout. Despite not having QB Chris Greisen and WR Troy Bergeron, the Force offense was able to move the ball effectively at times. Three-year AFL veteran WR Carl Morris led the receiving corps with five catches and one touchdown. Morris' touchdown came on a fade pattern thrown by QB Tom Arth to the back of the endzone. Both WR Brent Holmes and WR Willis Marshall tallied three receptions in the session. Defensively, the Force starters saw limited action, but played fast and physical when they were on the field.
"This was a great test for our football team," said Defensive Coordinator & Offensive Line Coach Bob Kronenberg. "Orlando is a physical team that gives a lot of effort, but I think our guys did a solid job of matching their intensity. The workout gave us a good look at what our team does well and what we need to still work on heading into Week 1 of the regular season. I believe our team is where it needs to be at this point in training camp and I am looking forward to watching us progress over the next week."
