Edmonton, AB â The 2003 Grey Cup Champion Edmonton Eskimos officially announced today the signing of defensive back Fabian Burke. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal have not been released.
The 25 year-old is entering his 4th CFL season with the Eskimos. In 2003, Burke appeared in all 18 games for the first time in his career and solidified his role as a trusted back up and special teams player. Setting a career high in tackles (15), Fabian continued to improve in the Eskimo secondary with his best performance coming in Ottawa (July31/03) where he registered 3 defensive tackles and 1 special teams tackle.
"Fabian's importance to our team has been understated but his contributions to our team over the past few years have been significant and we are extremely happy to have him back," said Head Coach Tom Higgins.
