Early Power Runs Doom GreenJackets

Charleston, WV: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 8-2 against the West Virginia Power on Saturday night.

The Power pulled out to an early lead after putting up eight runs over the first three innings of the game. The GreenJackets would respond with a run in the seventh inning, when a sacrifice fly from Malique Ziegler scored Orlando Garcia. Then in the top of the eighth inning, Ishmael Munguia hit his first home run as a GreenJacket to bring the score to 8-2.

The GreenJackets bullpen was able to shut down the Power over the final five innings. Olbis Parra went three innings, only giving up one hit. He then gave the ball to JJ Santa Cruz, who went two innings, only giving up one hit as well. At the plate for the GreenJackets, Orlando Garcia had a great night, going 3-4.

The GreenJackets will be back in action tomorrow with first pitch set for 2:05 pm in Charleston.

After the roadtrip, the GreenJackets will be back for a three-game series with the Hagerstown Suns. Promotions include, North Augusta Community Night, Richmond County Community Night, and Live Heathly night.
