What will tryouts consist of?
Learning a short dance combination either jazz or hip-hop, as well as displaying a number of technical combinations across the floor that includes: double pirouette, axel turn, right leap and toe touch.
How will I be judged?
A panel of judges that work closely with the Dorados will be looking for girls with great personalities, great smiles, and physical appearance (Our uniforms demand a fit physique).
Can I have a job while dancing for the Dorados?
Yes, many girls go to school and have full time jobs. Our practice schedule can be demanding, but it is manageable with any career. Our practices run 3-4 times a week, for about 1 to 2 hours a practice. On game days we practice the morning before the game, and have to be in the arena at least 2 hrs before the doors open.
What services to the dancers provide to the community?
We do many public appearances that include: Library Readers Clubs, school talks and pep rallies, school functions, business grand openings, golf tournaments, and other types of charitable services.
What do I need to wear for tryouts?
Any two piece athletic outfit will do such as a crop top, sports bra, capri pants or shorts. Dance shoes are preferred, like jazz shoes or dance sneakers, but any type of tennis shoe will do. Have your hair and make-up nicely done, and bring a headshot. Bring $30.00 for registration, and you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire.
