Diesel Quiet Thunder and Clinch First Ever Playoff Spot

Kearney, NE – The Tri-City Diesel offense was more than the Wichita Falls Thunder could handle tonight. The Diesel scored 62 of their total 72 points in the first half. Wes Cates ran for 100 yards rushing and five touchdowns on 21 carries to lead the Diesel to their first ever Pacific South Division Title and first ever NIFL Playoff appearance. The Diesel passing attack was led by quarterback Alex Neist who was 6 for 8 with 85 yards and 3 TD's.

Neist's main target tonight was Sonte Wong who caught 3 passes for 51 yards and 3 TD's. The Diesel Defense held the Wichita Falls Thunder to just 10 yards rushing the entire game and forced 3 turnovers. Leif Murphy set the tone on defense by totaling 6 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1 sack.

The Tri-City Diesel will turn their attention to the Oklahoma Crude who will come into the Diesel Dome Saturday, May 29 for a 7:30 kickoff.
