Detroit Pistons Assign Henry Ellenson and Michael Gbinije To Grand Rapids Drive

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has assigned forward Henry Ellenson and guard Michael Gbinije to the team's NBA Development League (D-League) affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive.

Ellenson has appeared in six games this season averaging 0.8 points and 1.0 rebounds in 2.8 minutes per game. He was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. In three games with the Grand Rapids Drive, Ellenson has averaged 16.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.0assists, 1.0 steals, 1.3 blocks and 35.9 minutes.

Gbinije has appeared in six games this season averaging 0.7 points in 3.5 minutes per game. He was selected with the 49th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. In three games with the Grand Rapids Drive, Gbinije has averaged 11.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 35.8 minutes.

The two will appear in tonight's game when the Drive take on the Windy City Bulls for the second time this season. Gbinije will wear jersey number 6 and Ellenson will wear jersey number 8.

The assignments are the 143rd and 144th of the 2016-17 campaign and the pair are two of 54 NBA players to have been assigned to the NBA D-League this season.

Tonight's game will tip-off at 7 PM with doors opening at 6 PM. Wednesday nights are the Drive's $2 Wednesdays presented by Meijer, featuring $2 GA Tickets, $2 Beer and Soda, $2 Popcorn. This game is also College Night where college students are able show their college ID at the door to get in to the game for FREE.
