GAME PREVIEW:
Texas is coming off of a week 10 bye. In week 9, Lubbock torched the Copperheads for a 75-42 win.
While the Texas defense gave up big play after big play to the Renegades, the Copperheads offense showed signs of life.
David Kennebrew scored twice, first on a 2 yard pass reception and then on a 20 yard run.
Rudy Carlton completed 22 of 44 passes for 246 yards and 4 TDs. Carlton only threw one interception. Four different Texas receivers each caught 5 passes. Newcomer Gabriel Hatchett led the way with 78 receiving yards and 2 TD grabs.
Armar Watson continued to contribute in all phases of the game as he took "Ironman" of the game honors for the 4th straight week. Watson accounted for 217 all purpose yards, rushed for a TD, caught a TD pass, intercepted a pass and returned 7 kick offs.
Rio Grand Valley lost to Lubbock in week 10 by a score of 48-20. The point total was Rio Grande's lowest of the season.
The Dorados enter week 11 tied with Bossier-Shreveport, Corpus Christi and Austin at 4-5 at the top of the National Southwest Division. If the Dorados beat Texas, they will remain at the top of the division. Travis Cole and the offense must take advantage of Texas' defense, which ranks 28th overall.
