The Canton Charge (17-14), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeated the Long Island Nets (13-21), 136-116, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon.
Canton set a season-high for points in a game with today's output, including most points in any half when they put up 73 in the first. John Holland led the onslaught with 37 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals in 39 minutes. Eric Moreland posted his 16th double-double of the year by netting 24 points on 11-of-15 shooting with 13 rebounds and two steals in 37 minutes.
The Charge's Quinn Cook set a franchise record for assists in a game by dishing out 16 to go along with his 28 points and two steals in 40 minutes. Cook broke a mark set during the franchise's first season in 2011-12 when T.J. Campbell had 14 in a double overtime win. Roosevelt Jones had an all-around effort of 11 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals in 35 minutes. Jonathan Holmes scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 40 minutes as Canton starters accounted for 125 of the team's 136 points.
R.J. Hunter led Long Island with 30 points in 32 minutes. Boris Dallo scored 11 points and dished 10 assists in 36 minutes. Canton took the inaugural season series between the two teams, 3-1, including winning the final three matchups.
