Celebrities, All-Star Athletes & Collectible Giveaways Highlight 2016 Promo Lineup

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - Celebrities, All-Star athletes and collectible giveaways highlight the Charlotte Knights promotional schedule for the 2016 All-Star season at BB&T Ballpark. Tickets for all games at BB&T Ballpark this season, including the WBT SkyShow on July 4th, the 2016 Triple-A Baseball All-Star Home Run Derby, and the 2016 Sonic Automotive Triple-A Baseball All-Star Game presented by Gildan, will go on sale starting at 9:00 a.m. at BB&T Ballpark on Saturday, February 20. Tickets will then go on sale online at CharlotteKnights.com and by phone at 704-274-8282 at 12 noon on February 20. Fans can also purchase tickets for all five games in the Red Ventures Collegiate Baseball Series.

The Knights will kick off their third season at BB&T Ballpark with Opening Knight at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 against the Durham Bulls. All Thursday games at BB&T Ballpark once again this season will feature $3 domestic drafts and $1 sodas for Thirsty Thursday ™ presented by Hickory Tavern. A number of other Knightly Promotions return, including BB&T Twitter Tuesdays, Friday Night Fireworks presented by BB&T and News Talk 1110 WBT, and Sunbelt Family Sundays with post-game Kids Run the Bases presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. All Saturday games this season, which now start at 6:05 p.m., will feature live music after the game.

Iconic television stars such as Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi" (July 18) and Saved by the Bell's Mr. Belding (August 10) will meet fans and sign autographs this season. Joining this already announced celebrity list will include appearances by Michelangelo and Leonardo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (April 17), five Enchanted Elegance Princesses on Princess Day (May 15), and four Heroic Ventures Super Heroes on Superhero Day (June 5). Back by popular demand, the Knights will host another Caddyshack Night at the ballpark and welcome Al Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield impersonator) to Uptown Charlotte on June 15 to meet fans.

Along with celebrities from hit television shows and blockbuster movies, the Knights will welcome an array of notable athletes to the ballpark in 2016. National Baseball Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers (May 18), legendary baseball player/manager Lou Piniella (June 1) and Muggsy Bogues (August 21) will meet fans and sign autographs this season. Bogues headlines the team's 20th Anniversary Tribute to the movie Space Jam. Former Atlanta Braves catcher Javy Lopez will meet fans and sign autographs on Wednesday, August 17. Lopez, a Triple-A Baseball All-Star in 1993, spent 15 seasons in the majors and was a three-time National League All-Star.

The Knights will wear specialty jerseys on seven select nights this season including on Friday, April 15 when the team celebrates Jackie Robinson Day. All Knights players will wear #42 jerseys for the game. The team will also wear special Military themed jerseys on three occasions (May 30, July 4, & August 7), Jedi Knights jerseys on Star Wars Knight (May 3), pink jerseys on the 11th Annual Pink Knights presented by Charlotte Radiology and Belk (May 14) and Nickelodeon jerseys on Nickelodeon Day (July 10).

Collectible giveaways this season include a BB&T Ballpark Scoreboard Desktop Clock to the first 3,000 fans courtesy of BB&T (April 19), a Matt Davidson Jedi Knights bobblehead to the first 3,000 fans (May 3), a Pink Baseball to the 2,500 ladies courtesy of Charlotte Radiology and Belk (May 14), a Knights Beach Towel to the first 2,000 fans courtesy of Carolinas HealthCare System (June 14), a Grill Spatula to the first 2,500 men on Father's Day (June 19), a Knights Hologram Magnet to the first 3,000 fans courtesy of BB&T (June 28), a Military Card Set to the first 1,000 fans (August 7) and a Knights Black Youth Jersey to the first 2,000 kids courtesy of Carolinas HealthCare System (August 9).

The Knights will host two "Bark in the Ballpark" games this season with all dogs invited to enjoy baseball in Uptown Charlotte on Sunday, May 1 and Tuesday, August 23. The Knights will pay tribute to NBC Charlotte's Larry Sprinkle - a long-time advocate of family pets - on August 23 with a bobblehead in his likeness to the first 3,000 fans courtesy of NBC Charlotte.
