Bighorns Stop Jam for Second-Straight Win

RENO, NEV - The Reno Bighorns (2-2) defeated the Bakersfield Jam (4-3), 106-86 Saturday night at the Events Center.
The Bighorns' offense was again too much for the Jam to handle, with five Bighorns in double-digits. The team was led by Utah Jazz assignee Kevin Murphy, who had 26 points on 10-19 from the field. Sacramento Kings' assignee Tyler Honeycutt had a game-high 40 minutes to go with his game-high 15 rebounds and 17 points. Forward Marcus Landry shot 9-12 from the field, including 5-8 from the three point line, good for 23 points.
The Jam were led by Renaldo Major, who finished with 19 points. Center Brian Butch recorded a double-double, with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Jam kept it close throughout the fourth quarter but were done in by 26 turnovers. The Bighorns held the Jam to 41.4% shooting. The team also had 22 assists, compared to Bakersfield's 11.
The Bighorns will face the Jam again at home on Monday night at 7 p.m. Monday is Season of Giving Night, where any fans who bring a can of food or toiletry item to donate will receive a free ticket to the game.
