Bighorns Escape 87ers to Close Showcase

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - The Reno Bighorns (14-11) defeated the Delaware 87ers (8-18), 118-114, to cap off NBA G League Showcase 2018. The victory against Delaware marks the Bighorns ninth win in 10 games.

Aaron Harrison came off the bench to score a game-best 23 points and added eight rebounds while fellow reserve David Stockton finished with 17 points and seven assists as the Bighorns finished Showcase 2-0. JaKarr Sampson tallied 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting for Reno, which won its third consecutive game. James Young scored a team-high 21 points, Christian Wood posted an 18-point, 13-rebound double-double, and the 87ers went 1-1 during Showcase.

The Bighorns used a 36-point second quarter to take a 12-point halftime lead. But after three periods, Delaware outscored Reno 33-23 to cut the deficit to two points. Reno's lead was as big as 18 in the second half before Delaware cut the lead to one point with 10.9 seconds remaining in the contest. The Bighorns sealed the victory with free throws in the final 10 seconds. Each team is back in action on Jan. 17 as Delaware hosts the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 11 a.m. ET and Reno visits the Santa Cruz Warriors at 10 p.m. ET. --bighorns-- About the Reno Bighorns: The Reno Bighorns are a member of the NBA G League, the official minor league of the NBA.
