Salt Lake Bees News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees will take their "Show on the Road" to the Utah Miracle League on Saturday, May 26 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Gene Fullmer Recreation Center in West Jordan (8015 S. 2200 W.).
Bees players Parker Bridwell, Drew Gagnon, Eric Young Jr. and others are scheduled to be in attendance along with Bumble, Honeybees and Salt Lake Bees staff, bringing the fun of Smith's Ballpark to the SME Steel Field of Dreams. Bees players and support staff will help serve as buddies for the Miracle League teams, sign autographs and hand out vouchers for a future Bees game to the Miracle League players.
Miracle League is an adaptive baseball program for individuals with disabilities, ages 3-22. The field is wheelchair accessible and players of all abilities take part in the fun. The program began in Georgia in 1998 to give children with disabilities the opportunity to dress in uniforms, play baseball and be part of a team. This year the Salt Lake Bees sponsored two Miracle League teams, which enabled participants to play without an entry fee.
