Alaska Wild continue to build for the 2010 season

Alaska Wild is pleased to announce our recent letter of intents from new players, as well as some of our returning players. The talent level this is year is going to be amazing. With a mix of veterans and new blood we are building a great team.

Taurean "Block" Robinson comes to the Wild from Birmingham, Alabama. He currently attends Southeast Missouri State, where he's working towards his degree in Criminal Justice. In 2008 Robinson played for the Centex Barracudas (IFL) and was voted team captain for the season. He started all 14 games of the season as well as the playoff games. Robinson only allowed 1 sack with a record of 97% on pass blocking for the entire season. He was nominated for the IFL All-Star award in 2008. Robinson started his indoor football career with the Centex Barracudas in 2007. As a rookie he made the IFL All-Star game and only allowed 3 sacks starting 13 games. Robinson also had the privilege of attending to the Tampa Bay Bucs training camp in 2006 as an undrafted free agent. Robinson 26, standing 6'4" and weighing 310 pounds, brings that much needed power to our offensive line.

Henry Hunter, 5'8", 180 pounds from Pineville, LA has signed a letter of intent to join the Alaska Wild family. His college career at Louisiana College he put up stats of 118 catches for 1,564 yards and 18 touchdowns. Hunter was two time Louisiana College WR of the year, as well as All-Conference WR. His professional career continued in 2007 for the Stampede Express (IFL) and most recently to the Louisiana Swashbucklers. Hunter led the SIFL in yards per catch with an average of 17.3 yards. From '08-'09 he compiled 80 catches for over 900 yards and 23 touchdowns with the Swashbucklers. He also helped lead the Swashbucklers to back to back championships in 2008 & 2009.

Jeff Ridgle, 6'7", 305 pounds, formally of the Swashbucklers comes to Alaska to join our offensive line. In 2009 he started at right tackle for the Swashbucklers, which was his rookie season in indoor football. He made 4 touchdowns as a tight end. Ridgle graduated from Arkansas College with a degree in Political Science. He lettered in football and basketball. Ridgle stated, "He plans to help bring a winning atmosphere to the Wild, play it game by game. I'm looking forward to it!"

Bryant "Batman" Mason, 6'3", 250 pounds played DE for the LA Swashbucklers. His statistics with the Swashbucklers was 56 tackles, 12 for losses, and 10 sacks. Mason was named MVP of the SIFL Championship Game with 4 sacks and 8 tackles. He graduated from McNeese State University.

Joseph "JC" Hobley is coming back to the Wild bigger and better as a defensive lineman. Hobley, 27 is 6'5" and weighs 295 pounds. He graduated from Pasadena City College. In 2008 Hobley was second team All American, and All-Star defensive linemen in the Labelle Community Football League. He had fifteen sacks on the year, three blocked kicks, multiple player of the game and defensive player of the week awards. In 2008 for the Alaska Wild, Hobley developed into a good speed rusher with 17 solo and 8 assisted tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. "I just want to play ball and I love to hit," stated Hobley.

In 2009 Cody Dwyer started at guard for the Alaska Wild, but was limited due to an injury. Dwyer will be challenging for a position on the Alaska Wild offensive line, which will be much improved in 2010. Dwyer stands 6'8" and weighs 328 pounds. Dwyer went to Easter Arizona on a full ride scholarship. In high school he was All-State linemen on both defense and offense. Dwyer was also MVP lineman at both University of Washington camp and Western Oregon Lineman football camp. He is a great addition to our team.

Dominique Corbitt, is one of our returning linemen that has the ability to play both sides of the ball, standing 6'3" and weighing 314 pounds. He is originally from Vallejo, CA. Corbitt has been in Alaska for four years, and has been apart of the Wild for three years. Corbitt won the best offensive lineman award at San Jose State high school camp. His goal is to show Alaska and the rest of the teams in the IFL that we're still here and we mean business.
