Late Rally Lifts Erie Past Legends in Double Overtime

ERIE, PA, (Dec. 29, 2015) - Tyler Harvey hit nine three-pointers in the final minutes, forcing double overtime and rallying the Erie Bayhawks to a 125-120 victory over the visiting Texas Legends.

The two teams exchanged leads and tied it up four times to begin the game before Texas went on a 14-2 run to gain control. The Legends would extend the gap to as much as 25 in the third quarter, heading into the final minutes at a 22-point advantage. With 5:15 to play Texas seemed to have sealed the win 107-86, but Harvey would forge an answer. Erie streaked through nine straight points to set the tone for what would come. Harvey knocked down six straight three balls to force an overtime and finished the game with nine, all of which came in the final 18 minutes. After a 40-18 fourth quarter, the two teams once again matched shot for shot and tied up the first overtime to go into three more minutes of play. Tu Holloway hit back-to-back jumpers for the Legends to grab an early lead, but Harvey responded by draining two more from downtown. Erie shot 75% to Texas' 25% to outscore the Legends 10-5 and grab the victory.

Holloway went 9-of-16 to lead the Legends with 29 points and added 10 assists for the team's only double-double. Allen Durham came off the bench to add 16 points while Micheal Eric and Toure' Murry tabbed 14 apiece.

Harvey's outside shooting ultimately led to 29 points for a team-high of the Bayhawks. Alex Davis and John Jordan added 19 points apiece and grabbed double-doubles with Davis grabbing 13 rebounds and Jordan dishing 10 assists.
