Charge Announce 2015 Open Tryout

The Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, will hold their annual open player tryout for the upcoming 2015-16 NBA Development League season on Sunday, September 27th at the Canton McKinley Memorial Field House, the team announced today. The open tryout will offer players the opportunity to exhibit their skills in order to earn an invitation to the team's official training camp in November.

"These tryouts are an excellent opportunity for us to discover talent that we may not have come across during our already thorough scouting process," said Cavaliers Director of Development League Operations Mike Gansey. "They provide players with an up close and personal audition for our coaches and staff to see if they can help our team."

Participants are eligible to earn a direct invite to Charge training camp instead of having to declare for the NBA D-League Draft. Two players (Levi Giese, Jordan Swing) made the 2014-15 Charge opening day roster from last year's tryout. There is no limit to the number of tryout participants that can earn invitations to a team's training camp.

The tryout will take place over two sessions on Sunday, September 27th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and continuing that afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Memorial Fieldhouse (1815 Harrison Ave. NW Canton, OH 44708). Each participant must be available to participate in both sessions on Sunday.

All applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA D-League and should pre-register by Friday, September 25th by submitting the official registration forms and a $155 fee. The fee increases to $200 at the door on-site at the tryouts.
