END OF THE ROAD TRIP: Today concludes a nine-day, nine-game road trip for the TinCaps. Ed Walsh, Jr. of the Oakland Oaks, and a Notre Dame alum, stymied DiMaggio.
HALL OF FAME: Craig Biggio, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and John Smoltz are set to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame today. None of the four ever played in the Midwest League, although Smoltz is from Michigan and went to high school in Lansing.
