Rockets Assign Canaan to the NBA D-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers

HOUSTON - Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has assigned guard Isaiah Canaan to Houston's single-affiliation NBA D-League partner Rio Grande Valley.
Canaan (6-0, 188, Murray State ), has appeared in 23 games (including nine starts) for the Houston Rockets this season, averaging 6.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 15.6 minutes per game. This will be the second-year guard's first stint in the NBA D-League this season. He previously appeared in 18 games (17 starts) for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers during the 2013-14 season where he averaged 21.8 points, 8.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 34.0 minutes per game.
Canaan was originally selected by the Rockets in the second round, 34th overall, of the 2013 NBA Draft.
