One of the great rivalries in the Canadian Football League will be renewed on Friday as the Calgary Stampeders meet the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 7:30 p.m.
The Stamps (13-2) have clinched first place in the West Division and are looking to extend their winning streak to four games. Calgary was a 33-23 winner in Winnipeg on Saturday.
The Roughriders (9-7) have also locked up a playoff berth but they're trying to snap a four-game losing streak. The most recent Saskatchewan setback took place at home on Sunday by a 24-19 score against the Edmonton Eskimos.
Calgary is a league-best 6-1 at home and 6-1 against West Division opponents. The Roughriders are 4-4 on the road and 5-3 against the West.
This is the second meeting of the season between Calgary and Saskatchewan as the Stamps pulled out a 31-24 victory in Regina on Oct. 3.
The teams have met 220 times over the years with the Stamps holding a 122-89-9 edge including a 71-34-5 advantage in games played in Calgary.
PinkPower
Friday is the Stamps' seventh annual PinkPower game as part of the team's partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society in the battle against women's cancers. Players will be wearing pink accessories and fans will get the opportunity to buy limited-edition toques and mittens . The special toques and mittens are on sale for $20 per piece and the proceeds will be directed to Canadian Cancer Society. More than a quarter of a million dollars has been raised for the Canadian Cancer Society in the first six years of the Stampeders' PinkPower program.
