Rivermen Re-Sign Stanfield and Greene

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel has announced the signing of four players for the 2014-15 Southern Professional Hockey League season. Among those include key winger Parker Stanfield, along with forwards Chris Greene, Josh Harris and rookie defenseman Richie Zobak.

Stanfield, 24, was runner-up on the Rivermen scoring chart last season with 39 points (13g, 26a) in just 39 games. He also earned a pair of call-ups to ECHL South Carolina and Florida, where he notched two goals and two assists in 10 games combined.

A native of Orange County, California, Stanfield played 33 games for ECHL Bakersfield in 2012-13, where he recorded six goals and seven assists after an eight-game endeavor with Poprad HK SKP (in Slovakia's top professional league). In addition, Stanfield collected 30 points (13g, 17a) in 47 games for Bakersfield during the 2011-12 season.

Greene, 28, played eight regular-season games for Peoria last year (1g, 2a) after he was traded from Fayetteville on Feb 17. Overall, he notched 23 points (8g, 15a) and 32 penalty minutes on the season. In addition, the Massena, New York native enjoyed two promotions, spending three games with the Evansville Icemen (ECHL) and eight contests with the Quad City Mallards (Central Hockey League).

Previously, Greene played six seasons in the CHL (2006-2013) for Arizona, Wichita, Corpus Christi and Denver, where he totaled 37 goals and 110 assists in 393 games. The 6'2, 190-pound forward will look to begin his ninth full professional season in October.

Harris, 26, was dealt to Peoria on June 5 in exchange for forward Kyle Watson, who was in turn sent to Huntsville. Last season, Harris collected 20 goals with 25 assists and a plus-14 rating in 50 games for the Havoc. He also added five points (1g, 4a) in five playoff games.

A native of Torrance, California, Harris earned one call-up last season to the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League where he notched one assist in three games. In addition, the 5'10, 175-pound scorer played eight games in the ECHL for the Las Vegas Wranglers in 2012-13. Prior to turning pro, Harris spent four years at ECAC Castleton State College in Castleton, Vermont. During 98 career games, he produced 47 goals and 80 assists for 127 points.

Zobak, 26, completed a four-year career at Plymouth State College (Plymouth, New Hampshire) in 2012-13. Over 105 contests, Zobak tallied 79 points (19g, 60a) and 68 penalty minutes. A native of Evergreen Park, Illinois, the 5'10, 190-pound defenseman also played two seasons each with the Traverse City North Stars and Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

"We saw him (in camp) in Colorado last year," Trudel said of Zobak. "He's a good defenseman who took a year off for work, but realized he was hungry to play professional hockey. We're excited to have him on board."
