Hollis Earns Vidswap.com Special Teams Player of the Week Honors

Bethlehem, PA: In release made today, the league office of the Professional Indoor Football League announced that Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Defensive Back/Kick Returner Dwayne Hollis was selected as the Week Three Vidswap.com Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in the team's 35-27 victory over the Harrisburg Stampede.

Hollis (5'10", NC Wesleyan) once again was the catalyst for a big comeback in the second half for the Steelhawks. Down 20-14 in the third quarter Hollis took a missed field goal the entire length of the field, and returned it for the go ahead touchdown. In addition, Hollis also returned a blocked extra point for a two point conversion in the first half. It is the first time in PIFL history that two players returned missed field goals in the same week as Richmond Raider KR Torez Jones also accomplished the feat in Week Three thus sharing the weeks honor with Hollis. The Steelhawks Safety also intercepted two passes in the game giving him four in just two games this season.

Additionally the league announced that Columbus WR Earl Alexander and Columbus DB Damian Daniels were named PIFL Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Players of the Week respectively for their efforts in Week Three.

Hollis and the Steelhawks have a bye week this weekend before coming back home to the Lehigh Valley for four straight home contests starting with an April 26th meeting once again with the Trenton Freedom at 7 p.m. inside Stabler Arena. This "Friends and Family" night game will be brought to the fans by ESSA Bank & Trust, with the first 1,000 fans receiving a free Draw String backpack.
