Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks broke a 9-9 tie with a six-goal fourth quarter en route to a 15-11 triumph over the Minnesota Swarm Saturday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Jeff Shattler led the Roughnecks in the seesaw battle with two goals and four assists, while Daryl Veltman picked up a hat trick and added a helper. Rounding out Calgary's goal scoring were Shawn Evans (2), Dane Dobbie (2), Curtis Dickson, Dan MacRae, Tor Reinholdt, Geoff Snider, Matthew Dinsdale and Karsen Leung.
Shayne Jackson paced the Minnesota offence with three goals and an assist. Jordan MacIntosh and Josh Gillam each scored twice in the setback, while one-goal contributions came from David Earle, Kiel Matisz, Scott Jones and Callum Crawford, who also added five helpers.
Calgary goaltender Mike Poulin faced 48 shots, turning aside 37 for his eighth victory of the season.
The Roughnecks (8-5) now embark on a two-game road swing, starting with a match in Philadelphia against the Wings on Friday, April 4 at 5:00 p.m. MT, before making their way to Buffalo on Saturday, April 5, to take on the Bandits (5:00 p.m. MT, TSN2).
