Calgary Stampeders News Release

For the 24th time in the past 25 seasons, the Stampeders and Eskimos are hooking up in a home-and-home series that starts in Calgary on Labour Day and continues in Edmonton four days later.

Calgary took the opening round of this year's back-to-back thanks to a wild 37-34 win at McMahon Stadium on Monday and the Alberta rivals meet again at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium on Friday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Newstalk 770 and TSN.

Fans in the Calgary can catch all the action at the Stamps' official site for Road Game Tweet-ups - Shark Club Deerfoot Meadows (7995 11th St. SE).

With the Labour Day victory, the Stamps improve to 7-2 on the season. The Eskimos are 1-8 and have dropped seven in a row, although the five most recent setbacks have come by a total of just 15 points.

The Stamps are 3-2 on the road so far in 2013 while the Eskimos (0-4) are looking for their first win of the season at Commonwealth.

Calgary is attempting to sweep the home-and-home series for a second consecutive year and for the fourth time in the past five seasons. Calgary has won the rematch contest six years in a row and seven times in the past eight years.

In 23 previous home-and-homes during Labour Day week, the Stamps have swept six times, Edmonton has taken both games five times and the series has been split on 12 occasions.

The only time in the past quarter-century the rivals have not played a back-to-back sequence was in 1992.

The Stampeders' next home action comes on Friday, Sept. 13 when Calgary hosts the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at Stampeders.com.
