SF Bulls Acquire Defenseman Collin Bowman, Sign D-Man Steven Tarasuk and Forward Ryan McDonough

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today that defenseman Steven Tarasuk and forward Ryan McDonough have agreed to two-way AHL/ECHL contracts with the Worcester Sharks and Bulls. In addition, defenseman Collin Bowman has been acquired from the Colorado Eagles for defenseman Russ Sinkewich. Bowman has also signed a two-way AHL/ECHL deal.
"We continue to see the amount of talent the Sharks add to their roster," said SF Bulls President/Head Coach Pat Curcio. "With the number of players under contract we expect several to make their debuts here in San Francisco. All of these players are in Worcester Training Camp, with the opportunity to start with the Sharks or continue their development with the Bulls."
Bowman, 22, enters his second season as a professional having spent last season with the Colorado Eagles, accumulating 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) and 102 penalty minutes in 69 games. Before turning pro, the 6-foot, 3-inch 215-pund native of Littleton, Colorado played five full seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Kelowna Rockets, Moose Jaw Warriors, and the Calgary Hitmen recording 148 points (35 goals, 113 assists) in 346 games. Bowman served as Moose Jaw's captain in 2010-11.
Tarasuk, 23, enters his fourth season as a professional having spent last year with the Lausitzer Foxes in Germany, totaling 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists) in 43 games. Tarasuk has skated in 135 games in the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings, Ontario Reign, and Idaho Steelheads, recording 63 points (12 goals, 51 assists) and has also played three games in the American Hockey League with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Before turning pro, the 5-foot, 10-inch, 170-pound native of Thornhill, Ontario played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kitchener Rangers and the London Knights, recording 130 points (28 goals, 102 assists) in 252 games.
McDonough, 25, enters his sixth season as a professional, his first in North America, including the last two seasons with the Hannover Indians in Germany where he accumulated 77 points (28 goals, 59 assists) in 87 games. Before turning pro, the 5-foot, 9-inch 180-pound native of Etobicoke, Ontario played four seasons with the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL recording 284 points (133 goals, 151 assists) in 258 games. McDonough has also played in Austria and Italy. In 2005-06, McDonough participated in the Under-18 World Junior Championship with Canada.
Bowman, Tarasuk, and McDonough are all expected to participate in the Worcester Sharks training camp scheduled for late September.
