Milner Takes FSL Pitcher of the Week Honors

CLEARWATER (Monday, June 12) - Clearwater Threshers lefty Hoby Milner has pitched his way to Florida State League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of June 10th-16th.

Milner, 22, dazzled the St. Lucie Mets in his lone start of the week, fanning seven batters and giving up just one hit and one walk en route to his sixth win of the season. The lefty hasn't lost in his last ten starts, in which he is 6-0 with an ERA of 1.72 and a sensational 60:11 K/BB. Over his last three starts, Milner is 2-0 with a microscopic 0.83 ERA coupled with a terrific 0.46 WHIP and 20 strikeouts to just one walk allowed. He's also held left-handers to just a .154 batting average on the season. Milner is the first Thresher in 2013 to win FSL Pitcher or Player of the Week Honors.

Named Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week, 7/30-8/5 (2 GS, 2-0, 0.00 ERA, 12.1 IP), and Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Month for August (6 GS, 4-1, 1.27 ERA, 5 ER, 35.1 IP)... Did not allow a run in 6 of his 12 starts with Lakewood... Held LHH to a .186 AVG (11-59) between both levels... Selected by Phillies in 7th round of June 2012 draft... Attended University of Texas."
