Daytona Beach, FL - The Florida State League today named the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period June 10 - June 16, 2013. The Player of the Week was Daytona Cubs Infielder Javier Baez, who had four (4) hits in 13 plate appearances for a .308 batting average. He played in four (4) games. His hits were four (4) homeruns in one game to tie a Florida State League Record. He scored four (4) times and had seven (7) RBI's. His OBP was .438 and his slugging average was 1.231. Baez is in his third year of professional baseball and resides in Jacksonville, FL.
The Pitcher of the Week was Clearwater Thresher Lefthander Hoby Milner. He started one (1) game and recorded a win with a 0.00 ERA. In 7 2/3 innings he gave up one (1) hit, issued one (1) walk, and struck out seven (7) batters. Hoby is in his second year of professional baseball and he resides in Fort Worth, TX.
