Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans announced today that forward Brian McMillin has signed a deal with Coventry Blaze in England for the 2013-2014 season.
"Brian McMillin had an amazing playoff run this season," said Americans Associate Coach Richard Matvichuk. "He works hard and has always done everything we have asked him to do. It's great to see our players continue to be rewarded and play at a higher level."
McMillin has been with the Americans organization since the 2010-2011 season. He has played in a total of 154 regular season games for Allen over those three years. His best season, statistically came in 2011-2012, when he had 16 goals and 43 points.
"I would like to thank the fans, the Americans front-office staff and especially the players for making my three years in Allen an unforgettable experience," said McMillin. "It was an honor to be a part of the Allen Americans first Presidents' Cup winning team. Leaving Allen was a tough decision, but I'm excited to start this new adventure with Coventry."
McMillin led all players in goals this post-season in the Central Hockey League, with 12. He had 20 points in 19 playoff games for the Americans and was named the post-season Most Valuable Player for the CHL Champs.
