Rancho Cucamonga, CA - A five-run sixth helped the Quakes to avoid a series-sweep on Wednesday night, as they defeated Inland Empire by a score of 8-3 at LoanMart Field.

O'Koyea DIckson, who went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-baggers on the night, started off the sixth inning with a double and eventually scored the tie-breaking run, as the Quakes snapped a two-game skid with their first win at home in their last six games.

Duke Von Schamann (8-2) became the Cal League's first eight-game winner, as he turned in a quailty start. Von Schamann (8-2) allowed three runs on nine hits over six innings in netting the win.

The Quakes also got a big game from catcher Pratt Maynard, who blasted a two-run homer, his third, and finished the game with two walks and a total of three RBIs.

Inland Empire starter Danny Reynolds (4-7) was shelled for eight runs in just 5 1/3 innings, getting chased in the midst of Rancho's big inning.

Noel Cuevas enjoyed a two-hit game with two RBIs, while Pedro Guerrero chipped in with a two-run double as part of the five-run sixth inning.

Rancho (28-31) will take their show to Visalia on Thursday night, sending Gustavo Gomez (1-2) to the mound against Rawhide right-hander Robert Coe (0-2), with first pitch scheduled for 7:00pm.

The Quakes return to LoanMart Field on Thursday, June 13th, for Thirsty Thursday. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
