San Jose Giants Homestand Preview: May 27-June 2

SAN JOSE, CA- The San Jose Giants will be returning to Municipal Stadium for a seven game homestand this week against the Bakersfield Blaze and Stockton Ports starting on Memorial Day. On Monday, May 27, there is a special holiday start time of 2:00 PM and any fans showing their Military or Veterans ID will get themselves and their families into the game for FREE! On Friday, May 31 the San Jose Giants will host their second annual Strikeout Violence Night with country artist Matt Kennon. Festivities will include a pregame performance by Kennon, presented by KRTY, and a Junior Giants Peace Pledge Ceremony. Friday will be followed by Relay for Life Night at the ballpark on Saturday, June 1. The team will wear special purple jerseys available to fans during an in-game silent auction benefitting cancer research.

Promotions and Special Events:

Memorial Day: It's the unofficial summer kick-off and you can experience some great baseball with a special start time of 2:00 PM. Also on Memorial Day, if you show your Military or Veteran's ID you and your family will get into the game for FREE!

Martinelli's Apple Juice Kids Run the Bases: Following the conclusion of the games on Monday, Saturday and Sunday, kids are invited down onto the field to run the bases, courtesy of Martinelli's Apple Juice.

Merchant Games: Fans should be on the lookout at local businesses and stores for complimentary tickets to the 7:00 PM game on Tuesday, May 28 and 11:35 AM game on Wednesday, May 29.

Education Day: Wednesday is also Education Day, a great opportunity for students and teachers to enjoy a unique learning experience at Municipal Stadium. This special themed day will take the aspects of a baseball game and combine them with elements of a classroom to create educational events and activities that will take place prior to and throughout the game.

OSH Merchant Games: Fans can pick up complimentary admission tickets to Wednesday's 11:35 AM day game and Thursday's 7:00 PM game at their local, participating OSH stores. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, while quantities last.

Star Wars Night: In a ballpark far, far away... Dress like your favorite Star Wars character and receive two free future game tickets on Thursday, May 30. Plus, the first 50 fans through the gates in costume will receive their very own Star Wars Lightsaber.

Second Annual Strikeout Violence Night: On Friday, the San Jose Giants will present the second annual Strikeout Violence Night at Municipal Stadium. The evening will once again center on an anti-bullying message. The San Jose Giants will welcome back country artist Matt Kennon who performed at the inaugural Strikeout Violence Night. San Jose Giant Race: The second edition of the San Jose Giant Race 5 Mile & 5k is back on Saturday, June 1. Registration includes a medal, shirt, and free baseball tickets. Offering a truly quintessential San Jose experience, the course runs through Kelley Park, Happy Hollow Zoo, and History San Jose before finishing on the field at Municipal Stadium. Those who are looking for another Giant challenge can register for both San Jose and San Francisco to make themselves eligible for the Turn Two Award. Relay for Life Jersey Auction: The San Jose Giants will host their first-ever Relay For Life jersey auction on Saturday, June 1. Players will wear special purple jerseys that will be available for fans during an in-game silent auction benefiting Relay for Life. Winning bidders get to go out on the field after the game and retrieve their jersey right off the respective player's back.

Pepsi Pregame Clinic: Pepsi and the San Jose Giants have joined forces again this year to present a clinic an hour and a half prior to Sunday's game. Bring your glove and learn the fundamentals of baseball from a handful of San Jose Giants players.
