Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans face Wichita in Game 5 of the Ray Miron Presidents Cup Finals tonight at Allen Event Center, with the best of seven series tied at 2-2. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm.
The Americans took back home-ice advantage on Sunday with a 2-1 at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. The Americans were outshot by a 36-24 count, but scored two unanswered goals to grab the lead.
"It was a must win for us," said Allen Americans forward Todd Robinson. The Americans gained the momentum in the second period when Captain, Jason Deitsch tied the score for Allen. Brian McMillin scored what turned out to be the game winner, early in the third period, to give Allen the lead for good.
Americans netminder Aaron Dell was spectacular in net, stopping 35 of 36 shots, to pick up his 10th win of the post-season. Dell has started every playoff game for the Americans and has a record of 10-6.
