Boston Breakers News Release

The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has announced that Saturday's game between FC Kansas City and the Boston Breakers will be rescheduled to a future date due to the ongoing situation in Boston. The game was scheduled to be played at 8:35 p.m. ET at Shawnee Mission District Stadium in Overland Park, Kansas.

"Due to increased security measures that have impacted travel from the area, we have made the decision to reschedule this weekend's game between Kansas City and the Breakers," said NWSL Executive Director Cheryl Bailey. "We believe the best course of action would be to allow the Boston staff and players to remain home during this difficult time."

In addition, the NWSL will conduct a moment of silence prior to the playing of the National Anthem at the other two matches this weekend to honor those who were injured and lost their lives in the tragedy. The Washington Spirit play the Western New York Flash at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday and the Portland Thorns FC will host Seattle Reign FC at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday. Live streaming for all the games is available at NWSLsoccer.com.
